YLS Board of Governors On-line Election & Annual Meeting!

The elections for the YLS Board of Governors will take place online from May 29, 2017 through June 7, 2017. 

The 2017 – 2018 Young Lawyers Section Board of Directors Election is open to Full, Public Servants/Governmental attorneys. 

  • A Young Lawyer is any member of the Association who have not yet reached the age of 36 shall be enrolled as members of the Young Lawyers Section; provided, however, that any member who shall reach the age of 36 years shall be entitled to the rights and privileges of membership for the remainder of the fiscal year in which his or her 36th birthday occurs, or who has been practicing law for 5 years or less.

YLS Annual Meeting – 

Live voting will take place at the YLS Annual Meeting on June 8, 2017 at The Blue Room at the Jacksonville Landing.  Election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting.

JBA Board of Governors On-line Election Ends Monday, May 15th

A President-Elect and five (5) members of the Board of Governors are to be elected.  The on-line election will end at 11:59 p.m., Monday,  May 15th. On-site voting will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Law Day Luncheon/Annual Meeting, May 16th at the Hyatt Regency Downtown.

The Election is open to Full, Public Service/Governmental and Judiciary Members.  Honorary, Student Members and Out of Area Members are not eligible to participate. MEMBERSHIP DUES MUST BE CURRENT TO VOTE.

Professionalism Conference @ TPC Sawgrass Parking Directions



Parking Passes are not required for general parking on Wednesday, but you may purchase Preferred Parking here. Please note, preferred parking must be purchased in advance; there will be no on-site sales.

General parking passes should use 5387 Palm Valley Rd Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida for GPS address.


Opaque bags 6x6x6 and smaller are allowed
Clear bags 12x6c12 and smaller are allowed
Spectators may bring food in one gallon clear plastic bags where food items are also wrapped in clear wrap


NO radios/other noise-producing devices
NO video of competition
NO coolers
NO weapons of any kind
NO outside beverages

Prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle before entering the grounds. Please be prepared to submit yourself and your personal items for inspection.

Disabled Guest

A Van Shuttle, which is wheelchair accessible, is available to and from Accessible Parking in the General Parking lot and Shuttle Row, adjacent to Davis Love III Entry for spectators wishing to access the Practice Area, Clubhouse or 1 Tee. Carts will run from the time gates open each tournament day until 30 minutes after play. Cart Shuttles will only pick up and drop off from designated locations and will not stray from official route under any circumstances.

  3. Players left of 9 Fairway by Wine & Dine on 9

If disabled guests need assistance from a location without shuttle access, they should contact any tournament official with a radio.


Uber is the preferred ride sharing partner of THE PLAYERS Championship. The Uber drop off will be at the Sawgrass Marriott (convention center side) and will take short shuttle to Davis Love III Entry. Pick up location will be located outside the Davis Love III Entry (Shuttle B).

Getting to THE PLAYERS Championship:

  1. Download, or update, the Uber app on your phone
  2. Enter Destination: THE PLAYERS Championship
  3. Arrive at the Sawgrass Marriott Conference Center
  4. Take the designated Uber shuttle from the Sawgrass Marriott Conference Center to the Davis Love III Entry located inside TPC Sawgrass
  5. Enter the tournament through the Davis Love III Entry

Leaving THE PLAYERS Championship:

  1. Exit tournament grounds through the Davis Love III Entry
  2. Follow the tournament signage to designated Uber pick up area outside the Davis Love III Entry
  3. Once at the Uber pick up area, open the Uber app on your phone and enter your preferred destination
  4. Get in available Uber and head to your preferred destination

Election of JBA Officers Nomination Submission Extended!

A President-Elect and five (5) members of the Board of Governors are to be elected by the date of the Annual Meeting of the Association to be held on Tuesday, May 16th, 2017.

Nominations for the current board election must be submitted to the Association office either in writing, facsimile or email  prior to 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 4th  along  with  a  recent  color photograph and the candidate profile form.     Nominations will not be accepted after that date and time.  Nominations must be in the form of a written petition, endorsed by 10 active members of the Association, specifying the name of the nominee and the office for which he/she is nominated, and endorsed by the nominee.  Endorsements may be submitted to the association in writing, facsimile to 904-399-4854 or email to jba@jaxbar.org, and must either include a signature or an electronically communicated message stating or affirming that each individual endorses the candidate for the office sought.
