As you may have guessed based on courthouse policies and the CDC recommendation against gatherings of 50 or more, we will postpone our 19th Amendment Centennial Anniversary celebration events, specifically:

  • the opening reception, previously scheduled for March 24;
  • the historic reenactment of the trial of Susan B. Anthony and discussion lunch, previously scheduled for March 26;
  • the display of the ABA Standing Committee on the Law Library of Congress’s 19th Amendment traveling exhibit, previously scheduled to be in the courthouse atrium from March 23 to April 3;
  • the display of Jacksonville Bar Association’s Law Day Poster Contest entries, previous scheduled to be in the courthouse atrium from March 23 to April 3; and
  • the guided tours of the display by volunteers with the League of Women Voters of Jacksonville/First Coast.

The good news: Judge Howard has secured alternative dates for the exhibit in September, and we’ll be able to put our efforts to use at that time. For now, take care of yourselves and your families, and we’ll regroup once we have a better feel for what the future holds. And, of course, thank you for your hard work thus far and willingness to be part of the celebration.
